Test mode and simulated data
Everything in this preview is test mode. Responses come from a fictional dataset, nothing is billable, and no live mode exists.
How to tell
Every response carries meta.source. In this version it is always "simulated", and meta.billable is always false:
{
"meta": {
"request_id": "req_0000000000000000docs",
"source": "simulated",
"billable": false
}
}
The value "live" is reserved for a future licensed data source and is never produced today.
The simulated dataset
- About 2,400 generated addresses in invented cities such as Sampleton and Mockford, across the 50-state address formats, apartments, suites, PO boxes and APO/FPO addresses.
- Two public landmarks are included so the website demo matches: 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW and 350 Fifth Ave.
- The dataset is deterministic: the same query returns the same results on every run.
What a live service needs
Planned Live address data requires a signed data license from a provider. None has been granted, so the code ships with live providers disabled and no network access to any provider.
